With just over 48 hours to go until the meaningless ‘meaningful’ vote in Parliament there are two groups of Ministers, in conjunction with two groups of Tory backbenchers, plotting to seize the Brexit reigns the moment May officially loses control.
One group is composed of No Deal extremists and in the opposite corner we have those favouring a softly-softly approach. That doesn’t really leave much left in terms of May’s support for the future.
Talk about these camps making a strike have been circulating for months but today it has been confirmed in numerous newspapers. I suppose the most interesting aspect about all of this is how do we know about these plots? It turns out one of them was overheard by one of May’s aides being discussed in a Westminster toilet!
